Where is the 1940s WWII Ball located?

The ball is held at the Boulder Municipal Airport, at the Blue Hangar. CLICK HERE for directions.

What time does the Ball start?

Doors open at 5pm for Seniors, dance class participants and VIPs only. General Admission starts at 6pm.

Where can I purchase tickets?

When seniors come at 5 for early admission, can others in their party that are not seniors get in at that time too?

Yes.  As long as there is a senior (65+), your entire party can enter during early admission with them.

Is outside food or beverages aloud?

Except for sealed bottled water, no outside food or beverages are allowed.

Do you have any type of coat/bag check.

Unfortunately we do not.

If I have lost my ticket, can I check in with just my id?

Yes.  Please just bring your ID and we can check you in at guest relations.

Are there any special accommodations for WWII Veterans?

If you are bringing a WWII veteran please register them for special comped VIP seating, comped dinner and drinks and a thank you from the stage!  Just email info@1940sball.org to register them.

If I purchased reserved seating, does everyone in my party
need a ticket?

We have a VIP manager that will be reaching out to everyone who purchased VIP seating to get names and to give you the appropriate check in info  2 weeks before the Ball.  This will ensure a smooth arrival for everyone in your party.

My VIP party would like to be seated with another VIP party.
Is this possible?

This is not a problem. We have a VIP manager that will be reaching out to everyone who purchased VIP seating to get names and to give everyone the appropriate check-in info 2 weeks before the Ball. During this time, please let our manager know who you would like to sit with and we will accommodate you.

If I purchased Early Bird Tickets, where/when do I pick up my free tshirt?

Early Bird tshirts can be picked up at anytime during the event at the merch booth.  Please see your map/schedule that you will receive at check in for exact location.  Please note it’s 1 t-shirt per order.

Can I get a refund for my ticket?

Tickets are non refundable, however they are transferable and may be gifted or sold. Unused General Admission tickets can also be exchanged for the same event the following year by emailing us when tickets go on sale. We’ll validate that the tickets were unused and email you the new ticket.  *This must be done at least 1 month before the event you’d like to transfer to–requests less than 1 month out will not be accepted.  Please do not email us until tickets have gone on sale for the event you would like to transfer to.

What food do you serve? Can you accommodate special dietary concerns?

We will have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free choices.  If you have other special dietary restrictions, please email us at info@1940sball.org and we will look into this for you.

Is there shuttle service available to and from the sponsor hotels?

Unfortunately no. If you are unable to drive, we recommend calling a taxi or UBER.

Is there parking at the event?

Is the event outside?

Most of it is. The Main Stage, VIP area, food vendors, bars, dance floor, general seating, plane show, camps, shop vendors, car show and restrooms are all located outside. Rick’s Cafe American, the Cafe Stage, salon, roulette, photo booth and more general seating are in the Blue Hangar.

We highly recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, umbrellas (just in case) and jackets with you to the event.

Is dressing 1940s mandatory?

We strongly advise 1940‘s themed evening attire, party dresses and/or uniforms. Actual vintage dress is best, however if you cannot find period attire to wear, women can wear a modern dress that is cut like those from the era with vintage accents such as vintage jewelry and/or a flower in their hair and men can wear a modern suit that looks similar to those of the era with accents like a fedora, suspenders or a bow tie.

Are there special accommodations for the handicapped?

The entire event is handicap accessible, we offer handicap parking and folks with wheelchairs are able to access most areas.  There is grass and gravel, but everything is on one level.

If I am volunteering what do I wear?  How do I check in?

If you are working set up, please wear comfortable clothing.  If you are working the event please see attendee guidelines above. We will be in touch approximately 2 weeks before the event w/checkin details.

Are children allowed at the event?

Children under 12 years of age are not permitted at the event. We apologize for any inconvenience.
